Frequently asked questions

Will this widget slow down my site?
No. The widget loads inside a lazy-loaded iframe that totals under 50 KB. It makes no external requests during page load, so it will not affect your Core Web Vitals or Lighthouse score.
Does it work on WordPress?
Yes. Open the block editor, add a Custom HTML block, and paste the embed code. The widget renders immediately in the preview and on your published page.
Will the law data stay current?
Yes. The widget pulls from a database of all 50 states, DC, and the US territories, verified from official statutes with a last-verified date. When we update the data, every embedded widget reflects the change automatically.
Can I customize the colors?
Yes. The widget supports light and dark themes, a custom accent color via hex code to match your brand, adjustable corner radius, and a compact mode for sidebar embeds. Use the customizer on this page to configure everything visually.
Do I need to create an account or pay anything?
No. The widget is completely free with no registration, API keys, or usage limits. Paste the code and it works.
What platforms does it support?
Any platform that allows HTML embeds: WordPress, Squarespace, Ghost, Webflow, Wix, Jekyll, Hugo, Astro, Next.js, and static HTML sites.
Can I remove the SeatChecker attribution?
The attribution line that sits directly below the widget must remain visible. It is a small, unobtrusive credit that helps us fund ongoing statute verification.
